Cake Smash Session!

Happy Birthday Michelle!! Today my friend tuns 40 and we celebrated earlier in the month with a Cake Smash! This was really a fun session!! I met Michelle at church several years ago during VBS. She was one of those people that not only thinks about doing a craft – she actually does them! I remember thinking who is this girl that has all this time to make all these things! I have to admit I was a little jealous, I want to be like Michelle but I fall short! Crafting has always been something I love, I buy all the stuff and it usually sits there never getting finished before I move on to the next craft purchase. I will continue to dream about my crafting while I watch Michelle make so many projects for herself and others! I do most of my cake smash sessions at my home studio in Orange County – I am so glad I have this space with the rain we have had this year!! Michelle showed up to my studio in Rancho Santa Margarita with her car loaded with props! She had everything Harry Potter! The trunk, books, wand, prophets, and more! She decorated the set and it was so amazing, I love her creativity so much! I could not have pulled this one off like she did since I haven’t read the books! She was dressed in her colors, with hair to match! To be honest I really don’t get any of it but it was fun to see how she pulled it all together and made such an awesome set!

It was so fun to see her wanting to smash the cake yet being a bit squeamish about it! I love her expressions as she tries to muster up the nerve to tackle the cake! The faces as she’s deciding if she even likes the cake and then as she just dives in and goes for it! Most of all I loved catching up and chatting with a friend! Someone I admire for her faith, her creativity and her love for kids! Happy Birthday Michelle!! I hope you have an amazing day!
